AI Researcher (F/M/*)

Our talent team at Get A Job.ai is representing a confidential AI technology company based in Aachen, Germany. This organization is building enterprise knowledge systems that help teams work faster and smarter. We're searching for an AI Researcher to advance the methodological foundation of their retrieval and AI systems.

In this role, you'll work at the core of their technology stack, translating cutting-edge research into measurable product improvements. You'll design evaluation frameworks, run systematic experiments, and collaborate closely with engineering to bring ideas into production.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize retrieval pipelines using rigorous scientific methods
• Translate current research in Information Retrieval, NLP, and Machine Learning into concrete product enhancements
• Design clean evaluation methodologies and conduct systematic experiments to drive data-informed decisions
• Monitor state-of-the-art developments and assess the relevance of new approaches and publications
• Share insights with the team and work closely with engineering to transition research into production systems

What We're Looking For

• Master's or PhD (MSc or Dr.) in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Computational Linguistics, Mathematics, or a related field
• At least 3–4 publications in relevant conferences or journals (e.g., IR, NLP, or ML venues)
• Exceptionally strong methodological and scientific thinking—deep understanding of retrieval methods, ML models, and evaluation frameworks is more important than coding perfection
• Solid programming skills (e.g., Python) sufficient for implementing experiments; you don't need to be a software engineering expert
• Professional experience is advantageous but not mandatory—compelling research performance counts more
• Strong communication skills in both German and English with diverse stakeholders
• Must have legal right to work in Germany; candidates must be based in Germany
