Forward Deployed Engineer (DACH)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a high-growth B2B software company in the construction technology space, currently expanding their technical team in Munich. This venture-backed organization has seen 8x revenue growth over the past year and is building AI-powered automation tools for large-scale industrial operations.

As a Forward Deployed Engineer, you will serve as the technical bridge between our client's product and their enterprise customers. This role combines hands-on software development with direct customer engagement—you'll build features end-to-end, integrate systems, configure AI models, and work closely with technical stakeholders to ensure successful deployments.

Responsibilities

• Own complete technical implementations from kickoff through go-live for new enterprise customers
• Build and ship full-stack features across Python, React, TypeScript, and SQL based on customer requirements
• Configure and fine-tune AI models and LLM agents to match specific customer workflows and domains
• Structure messy customer data and build integrations with ERP systems (SAP, REST/GraphQL APIs, webhooks)
• Develop prototypes that demonstrate new capabilities and evolve them into production-ready solutions
• Engage daily with technical users and senior stakeholders at customer organizations
• Translate customer pain points into engineering decisions and communicate technical solutions clearly

What We're Looking For

Required Technical Skills:

• Strong full-stack engineering experience with Python, React, TypeScript, SQL, and API development
• Ability to work with messy, inconsistent real-world data and build reliable structure quickly
• Practical experience with LLMs, AI agents, and prompt engineering
• Experience adapting model behavior to fit specific domains and workflows
• German language proficiency at B2 level or higher

Preferred Experience:

• System integrations involving ERP platforms, B2B SaaS implementations, or enterprise software
• Working in customer-facing technical roles or implementation engineering

Mindset and Approach:

• Customer obsession—you find genuine satisfaction solving problems end-to-end, not just handing off solutions
• High agency and ownership—when something is broken or missing, you fix it without waiting for direction
• Strong communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences (engineers, users, executives)
• Comfortable with ambiguity, legacy systems, and imperfect data
• Mission-driven approach with commitment to working in-person in Munich at higher intensity than typical corporate roles
