This is a high-impact role leading the technical infrastructure that powers financial reporting, reconciliation, and compliance workflows for a rapidly scaling marketplace platform.

You will lead a team of engineers building scalable backend systems, data pipelines, and integrations that ensure accuracy, auditability, and regulatory compliance. This position sits at the intersection of engineering and finance, requiring both strong technical leadership and a working knowledge of accounting processes.

Responsibilities

• Own the strategic roadmap and execution for accounting infrastructure, including data pipelines, system integrations, and automation platforms that power financial reporting and reconciliation at scale
• Partner with Accounting, Finance, and cross-functional engineering teams to translate complex regulatory and operational requirements into reliable, auditable backend systems
• Lead and mentor a team of engineers, setting technical direction and fostering a high-performance culture within a fast-moving financial environment
• Drive measurable improvements in data accuracy, pipeline reliability, and system scalability to enable faster close cycles and audit readiness
• Collaborate with global teams and systems across the organization's international footprint

What We're Looking For

• 7+ years of experience in data or software engineering, including 2+ years leading engineering teams, ideally within fintech, marketplace, or high-growth technology environments
• Hands-on expertise with modern data infrastructure tools such as Fivetran, dbt Cloud, Snowflake, and Workato, with the ability to guide technical decisions across the stack
• Strong working knowledge of financial processes including revenue recognition, reconciliation, and close workflows
• Proven ability to bridge the gap between engineering and accounting stakeholders, translating business requirements into technical solutions
• Clear communication skills to align diverse partners across Finance, Accounting, Compliance, and Engineering around complex technical tradeoffs and delivery timelines
• Experience with distributed systems, data quality frameworks, and SOX-relevant controls is a strong advantage
