Werkstudent:in Data Analytics (Controlling Focus) (m/w/d)

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential renewable energy technology client seeking a working student in Data Analytics with a focus on controlling and business intelligence. In this role, you will support the team in building a central data architecture that ingests, transforms, and analyzes data from global operational and financial systems.

Your key responsibilities include:

• Building and maintaining end-to-end data pipelines to ensure availability of operational and financial data
• Supporting the controlling team with automated reports, forecast datasets, and KPI tracking
• Independently developing analyses, dashboards, and reports in Looker to monitor financial and operational performance
• Contributing to data integrity and reliability in finance-related datasets
• Assisting with automation and optimization of reporting processes for budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
• Exploring and implementing AI-supported data analysis to improve forecasts, anomaly detection, and business insights

What We're Looking For

Required qualifications:

• Currently enrolled at a German university in Data Science, Computer Science, Business Informatics, or a comparable program with a data analytics focus, with at least two semesters remaining
• Available to work 15–20 hours per week
• Strong proficiency in SQL and Python, ideally also Git
• Initial experience working with larger datasets (e.g., data ingestion, transformation, or data modeling)
• Proactive work style and comfort working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
• Excellent German and English language skills, both written and spoken (C-level)

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience with BI tools such as Looker, Power BI, or Tableau
• Initial experience with AI or machine learning (e.g., predictive modeling, forecasting, or use of AI libraries or tools)
• Interest in finance, controlling, or business performance analysis
• Strong communication skills and collaborative approach when working with team members and stakeholders
