Our talent team at Get A Job.ai is representing a confidential fusion energy organization in their search for a Fuel Cycle Fuel Recycling Lead. This role offers the chance to contribute to groundbreaking clean energy technology while working with a multidisciplinary international team in Darmstadt, Germany.

As the system lead for fuel recycling, you will guide the design of tritium extraction systems from early concept through detailed design, licensing, and construction handover. This position combines deep technical expertise with organizational leadership to ensure technical excellence across the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Provide end-to-end accountability for fuel cycle recycling system design
• Define and govern overall system architecture, including configuration, major design parameters, and fundamental safety approach
• Resolve complex, cross-cutting technical issues that span multiple engineering disciplines
• Author key engineering deliverables including system design descriptions, design basis documents, interface control documents, and safety analysis inputs
• Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary technical teams
• Report design status, risks, and issues to senior leadership regularly
• Manage design change control processes to maintain schedule and cost discipline while preserving design integrity

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications:

• M.Sc. in nuclear engineering or chemical engineering
• Minimum 5 years of relevant technical experience
• At least 2 years leading multidisciplinary technical teams
• Experience in fluid engineering
• Advanced experience with process engineering simulation tools
• Deep knowledge of process engineering for plant systems, safety analysis principles, and design basis development
• Experience designing and calculating fluid processes
• Knowledge of nuclear reactor physics
• Mastery of process engineering tools
• Understanding of mechanical analysis and instrumentation and control systems
• Experience managing requirements, FMEA, licensing, documentation and control processes
• Project scheduling capabilities

Preferred Qualifications:

• Advanced fission reactor knowledge
• Fusion energy experience
• Fluid engineering applied to the nuclear industry
• Advanced nuclear reactor systems experience
• Programming skills
