Community Manager

About This Role

We are representing a confidential client in the digital gaming space. They operate one of the fastest-growing board game platforms globally, with millions of active players across multiple continents. Our talent team is searching for a Community Manager to serve as the primary voice and relationship-builder for their passionate player base.

This is a fully remote position with asynchronous work arrangements. You'll own community engagement across Discord and other platforms, run live tournaments, create player-facing content, and translate community feedback into actionable insights for leadership.

Responsibilities

• Moderate and manage Discord channels daily, enforce community standards, and configure bots and role permissions
• Write and publish all community-facing content including patch notes, newsletters, and announcements with consistent brand voice
• Plan and execute weekly tournaments and competitive seasons: scheduling, bracket management, live moderation, and results tracking
• Cultivate direct relationships with top players, content creators, and streamers
• Deliver weekly reports on community sentiment gathered from Discord, Reddit, and social channels
• Develop onboarding materials for new players: welcome sequences, beginner guides, and FAQ documentation
• Oversee referral program operations, track performance metrics, and collaborate with marketing on optimization
• Create social content including graphics (Canva) and short-form videos (CapCut)

What We're Looking For

Required:

• Proven experience building and managing online communities
• Active gamer with firsthand understanding of board game communities
• AI fluency and comfort using AI tools as productivity multipliers
• Deep Discord expertise: bot management, permissions architecture, server structure, moderation best practices
• Excellent English writing skills with ability to maintain warm, clear, consistent tone across channels
• Strong organizational skills and ability to juggle competing priorities without missing deadlines
• Empathy and conflict resolution skills for managing community dynamics
• Data literacy: comfort tracking metrics and translating qualitative signals into structured reports
• Self-directed work style suited to asynchronous remote environment
• Weekend availability for tournaments and live community events

Preferred:

• Familiarity with settlement-building board games
• Multilingual capability (Spanish, Portuguese, or German)
• Video editing experience with CapCut or similar tools
• Track record growing or managing gaming communities
