Senior Software Engineer, Edge Security

About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential edge computing and security organization seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join their Security Products division. This is a remote opportunity open to candidates across North America (Canada, Mexico, USA).

Our client operates a global platform serving some of the world's most prominent digital properties. Their Security Products group develops and maintains industry-leading security solutions that protect critical infrastructure at scale. You'll work on backend systems that process massive volumes of traffic while maintaining the highest security standards.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain backend systems for large-scale web applications primarily using Go
• Write clean, modular, and robust code to implement security product requirements
• Coordinate seamlessly with distributed team members across technical and product organizations
• Contribute to code reviews, documentation, and collaborative team processes
• Optimize code performance and tune systems for scale
• Participate in an on-call rotation to support production systems

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications:

• 6+ years of enterprise software development experience
• Deep knowledge of HTTP and related networking protocols
• Strong interest in network security
• Hands-on experience developing and operating backend systems for web applications
• Experience working in collaborative, distributed team environments
• Strong Linux, automation, and shell scripting skills
• Primary development in Go (experience with C, Rust, or similar languages is valuable)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior experience building security solutions
• Expertise building on Kubernetes
• Experience managing hybrid cloud environments (data center + public cloud)
• Familiarity with technologies like Varnish or H2O

Work Requirements:

• Availability during core US business hours
• Willingness to participate in on-call rotation
• Occasional travel as needed

Pay

The client's salary range for this position is $181,220 to $217,464 USD annually. This role may also be eligible for equity and discretionary bonus programs.
