Senior Director, Clinical Research – Neurodegeneration

Our talent team at Get A Job.ai is representing a confidential biopharmaceutical organization seeking an experienced physician drug developer for a senior clinical leadership role. This position offers the opportunity to lead clinical development programs focused on neurodegeneration, with primary responsibility for Huntington's disease programs, while potentially supporting additional therapeutic areas as the pipeline evolves.

The successful candidate will drive clinical development strategies, ensure operational excellence across trials, and serve as a key scientific voice at regulatory interactions and external meetings. This role involves extensive collaboration with research teams, external experts, and cross-functional partners to advance novel therapeutics from bench to bedside.

This is a hybrid position based in Maidenhead, UK.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic clinical leadership for neurodegenerative disease programs with clear vision and direction
• Develop innovative, realistic drug development approaches and lead clinical efforts toward global regulatory approvals
• Oversee trial conduct, safety monitoring, and ensure compliance with protocols and regulatory standards
• Deliver strategic consultation to research teams on clinical feasibility of novel targets and proof-of-concept study design
• Collaborate across Preclinical, Regulatory Affairs, Medical Affairs, and Commercial teams to integrate product development plans
• Maintain accountability for clinical timelines, deliverables, and program milestones
• Drive and supervise major written deliverables including regulatory submissions, manuscripts, abstracts, and presentation materials
• Review and approve controlled documents including protocols, investigator brochures, and informed consent forms
• Represent the organization at high-visibility internal and external forums

What We're Looking For

• MD with strong research background or MD PhD, with demonstrated track record of peer-reviewed publications; Board Certification or specialist training highly desirable
• 10+ years of pharmaceutical industry experience or equivalent clinical academic experience
• Proven track record leading Phase 2/3 clinical programs, preferably in neurology or Huntington's disease development
• Extensive experience with Health Authority interactions and regulatory submissions
• Strong foundation in clinical trial design, biostatistics, and regulatory guidelines and practices
• Sound scientific and clinical judgment with history of effective problem-solving
• Exceptional written and oral communication skills with ability to present complex medical concepts clearly
• Outstanding leadership and collaboration abilities within matrix organizational structures
• Experience working with biotech or pharmaceutical partners preferred
• Comfort thriving in fast-paced, entrepreneurial biotechnology environments
