About This Opportunity
We are representing a confidential healthcare solutions client in their search for a Publications Lead with Dermatology expertise to join their Medical Affairs team. This fully remote role is based in the United States and offers the opportunity to shape publications strategy across multiple therapeutic areas while serving as a key scientific expert.
Our client operates at the intersection of healthcare and technology, providing a dynamic environment where you'll collaborate with cross-functional teams spanning the US, Europe, and India. You'll lead the development of high-quality scientific content across multiple communication channels while ensuring compliance and strategic alignment with Medical Affairs objectives.
Responsibilities
- Lead publications strategy and execution for dermatology therapeutic area, ensuring alignment with overall product and brand strategy
- Serve as primary medical and scientific expert for development of publications, appropriately contextualized and compliant with GPP, ICMJE, and EQUATOR guidelines
- Collaborate with pharmaceutical Medical Affairs teams during congresses, product launches, and key data releases to prioritize medical communication deliverables
- Research, develop, and review scientific materials including abstracts, posters, oral presentations, manuscripts, slide decks, scientific platforms, and medical meeting materials
- Provide therapeutic area leadership extending beyond dermatology to areas including women's health, neurology, oncology, respiratory, cardiovascular, and rare diseases
- Partner with offshore colleagues to ensure seamless delivery of high-quality content, providing clear feedback to writing teams on scientific accuracy and compliance
- Act as liaison between internal teams and client stakeholders, including Medical Affairs, Legal, Regulatory, and Commercial functions
- Support strategic planning of publications, medical education, and non-promotional scientific activities
- Provide medical insights to inform advisory boards, symposiums, KOL engagement strategies, and launch initiatives
- Mentor and train cross-functional teams on therapeutic areas, processes, and emerging technologies in medical communications
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications:
- Medical degree or advanced Life Science degree
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in Medical Affairs or Publications within the pharmaceutical industry
- At least 3+ years of specific experience in Dermatology therapeutic area
- Proven track record in publications planning and execution following GPP, ICMJE, and EQUATOR network guidelines
- Prior experience working with or within the life sciences industry, preferably in medical communications agency in scientific or medical role
- Must be based in the United States for remote work
Preferred Qualifications:
- CMPP or other medical writing, medical communications, or Medical Affairs certification
- Familiarity with medical strategy development, KOL engagement, and congress activities
- Clinical experience or biopharmaceutical experience in dermatology or related disease areas
- Understanding of Datavision/iEnvision platforms and publications tracking systems

Pay
