Cloud Platform Engineer (m/w/d)

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential technology organization building a sovereign cloud platform in German data centers. This is a true platform engineering role where you will design, build, and evolve the infrastructure that powers mission-critical SaaS applications for insurance and public sector clients.

Your responsibilities include:

• Designing and developing multi-cluster Kubernetes environments with full control and no hyperscaler dependencies
• Architecting highly available clusters including networking, storage, load balancing, and authentication components
• Building and evolving tenant isolation concepts to provide dedicated customer environments with complete lifecycle management
• Collaborating with development teams on performance and availability requirements for cluster and tenant architectures
• Implementing GitOps workflows for automated deployment and Day-2 operations
• Establishing Infrastructure as Code and Policy as Code standards using tools like Ansible and Terraform
• Enabling platform self-service capabilities for internal development teams
• Supporting application teams during workload migration to the cloud platform
• Continuously improving stability, security, and performance based on monitoring data and operational insights

What We're Looking For

Must-have qualifications:

• Several years of experience in cloud engineering, platform engineering, container technologies, or infrastructure automation
• Deep Kubernetes knowledge, ideally from operating production multi-cluster environments
• Hands-on experience with GitOps workflows (ArgoCD or Fleet preferred) and Infrastructure as Code (Ansible, Terraform, or similar)
• Fluent German (minimum C1 level) and very good English, both written and spoken
• Willingness to travel occasionally for client meetings and team collaboration

Nice-to-have experience:

• SUSE Stack or comparable Kubernetes management platforms
• DevSecOps practices, Policy as Code, or high-availability architecture design
• Monitoring stacks such as Prometheus and Grafana

• Confident communication skills when working with both development teams and clients

• Experience coordinating initiatives across team and organizational boundaries
