AI/ML Engineering Intern

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential B2B SaaS company building applied AI systems at scale. As an AI/ML Engineering Intern, you will work on production LLM workflows that process high-volume unstructured data. Your work will directly impact product quality and user outcomes.

• Build and improve LLM workflows for extraction, scoring, and ranking against real product data
• Design evaluations that measure output quality and validate whether changes represent genuine improvements
• Work with messy, high-volume unstructured data and transform it into reliable structured outputs
• Improve retrieval and ranking algorithms so the most relevant results surface first
• Investigate incorrect or low-quality model output and trace issues back to root causes

What We're Looking For

Our client seeks candidates with strong fundamentals and genuine interest in applied AI work. This is an opportunity to work on live production problems rather than theoretical exercises.

• Strong programming fundamentals in Python, TypeScript, JavaScript, or similar languages
• Interest in applied AI, machine learning, LLMs, ranking, retrieval, or data systems
• Comfort working with messy data and evaluating output quality systematically
• Demonstrated AI/ML, data science, research, or relevant side project experience
• Strong problem-solving ability and willingness to learn quickly in a fast-paced environment
• Clear communication skills and ability to work independently in a remote setting
