2027 Summer Intern, MS/PhD, Machine Learning, Simulation Realism

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential autonomous vehicle technology organization seeking a Summer 2027 Machine Learning Intern to join their Simulation Realism team in London. This hybrid onsite internship offers MS and PhD students the chance to work on cutting-edge deep learning projects that directly impact autonomous driving systems.

Our client is a leader in self-driving technology, and this role sits within their software engineering division focused on perception, decision-making, and simulation frameworks. You'll collaborate with experienced researchers and engineers on projects that enhance the realism and accuracy of autonomous vehicle simulation environments.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to existing machine learning and simulation projects within the autonomous driving pipeline
• Implement research ideas and novel approaches into production-level simulation systems
• Design, run, and analyze training and evaluation experiments for deep learning models
• Work alongside software engineers and researchers on robotics and perception challenges
• Participate in code reviews and technical discussions with senior team members

What We're Looking For

Required:

• Currently enrolled in a Master's or PhD program in Computer Science, Robotics, or a related technical field, graduating after Summer 2027
• Strong Python coding skills and experience writing production-quality code
• Hands-on deep learning experience with frameworks such as TensorFlow, JAX, or PyTorch
• Ability to work hybrid onsite in London during Summer 2027

Preferred:

• Experience with attention mechanisms and autoregressive architectures
• Knowledge of diffusion models applied to multimodal data
• Background in autonomous driving, robotics, or related applied machine learning domains
• Research publications or projects demonstrating expertise in relevant areas
