SEO Strategist – Canada

About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential digital marketing agency seeking an SEO Strategist for a full-time remote position based in Canada. This client-facing role requires someone who thrives at the intersection of technical expertise, analytical thinking, and clear communication. You'll be working with multiple clients across various industries, translating complex search concepts into actionable strategies that drive measurable results.

The ideal candidate brings 3-5+ years of agency experience and possesses that rare combination of deep technical knowledge and exceptional people skills. You'll need to be comfortable presenting to clients, collaborating across internal teams, and constantly adapting to the ever-evolving search landscape.

Responsibilities

• Develop competitive audits, proposals, and client reports that clearly communicate search opportunities and technical recommendations
• Utilize enterprise SEO tools to assess website health, identify optimization opportunities, and execute against planned scopes
• Execute technical SEO tasks including site migrations, page speed optimization, core web vitals improvements, and crawling/indexing analysis
• Conduct comprehensive keyword research and backlink analysis for large-scale organic search campaigns
• Support UX and website redesign projects with SEO guidance and technical requirements
• Leverage analytics platforms to measure performance and inform strategy decisions
• Stay current on search industry developments and share knowledge with both client and internal teams
• Manage multiple concurrent projects while meeting scheduled deadlines

What We're Looking For

• 3-5+ years of hands-on SEO experience, preferably in an agency environment
• Proven track record of successful SEO campaigns for medium to large brands, ideally including e-commerce experience
• Advanced technical SEO knowledge covering crawling, indexing, rendering, AMP, site migrations, page speed, and Core Web Vitals
• Strong proficiency with Google Analytics and Google Search Console; experience with Tag Manager is a plus
• Intermediate to advanced knowledge of HTML, JavaScript, and CSS as they impact search performance
• Hands-on experience with enterprise SEO platforms and tools (such as SEMRush, Screaming Frog, DeepCrawl, Ahrefs, and similar)
• Understanding of recent SEO developments including Core Web Vitals, E-A-T principles, and emerging Rich Results formats
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to make technical concepts accessible
• Strong project management capabilities and ability to prioritize competing demands
• Advanced proficiency with spreadsheet tools (Google Sheets, Excel) and presentation software (PowerPoint, Google Slides)
• Cross-channel marketing understanding and collaborative mindset
• Self-directed learning approach combined with openness to feedback and knowledge sharing
