About This Opportunity
We are representing a confidential cloud platform company seeking a Backend Software Engineer to join their distributed team across Europe. Our client operates at scale, serving tens of thousands of users in production environments. This is a remote position requiring working hours aligned with UTC ± 2 hours.
As a backend engineer on this team, you'll contribute to core platform technology, focusing on stability, performance optimization, and feature development that directly impacts developer productivity.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable backend systems and APIs
- Optimize database performance and data structures
- Develop and maintain microservices architecture
- Ensure high availability and fault tolerance across systems
- Collaborate with front-end developers and DevOps teams
- Participate in code reviews and technical discussions
What We're Looking For
Required:
- 3+ years of experience in backend development
- Proficiency in Go, Python, or Node.js
- Strong knowledge of both SQL and NoSQL databases
- Understanding of RESTful APIs and microservices architecture
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
Preferred:
- Experience with distributed systems and message queues
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
- Familiarity with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
