Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential developer tools organization seeking a Senior Product Manager to lead version control and code-change workflow strategy. In this role, you will define the future of how development teams manage code, from local commits through AI-assisted reviews.

Your day-to-day responsibilities include:

  • Setting long-term product strategy for version control systems and code-change workflows across multiple IDE platforms
  • Identifying gaps in current developer workflows and defining new product directions in the VCS space
  • Exploring opportunities in cross-platform VCS clients, platform-neutral code reviews, and AI-native review workflows
  • Listening to community and industry feedback to prioritize development efforts
  • Aligning roadmap decisions across product, engineering, design, marketing, and advocacy teams
  • Collaborating with engineering and quality leads to balance user value with technical constraints
  • Representing the VCS product vision in conversations with customers and the developer community

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate brings:

  • Previous success leading product direction for technically complex developer tools, SCM, CI/CD, or code collaboration software
  • Proven ability to translate intricate developer workflows into clear product roadmaps
  • Experience aligning stakeholders across product, engineering, marketing, and developer advocacy functions
  • Deep understanding of version control mechanics, code-change workflows, and modern software delivery practices
  • Strong product judgment when navigating ambiguous areas to define new ecosystems
  • Collaborative mindset for working with engineering teams on deeply technical challenges
  • Clear communication skills for both internal alignment and technical user conversations
  • Data-informed decision-making approach combining metrics, feedback, and market signals
  • Interest in how AI is transforming software development workflows
  • Location in the EU (ideally Munich, Prague, Amsterdam, Berlin, or Belgrade) or remote within the EU, with ability to travel as needed
  • Bonus: familiarity with advanced scenarios including complex merges, monorepos, and enterprise self-hosted setups
