Junior Demand Planning & Supply Chain Analyst (m/w/d)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a fast-growing e-commerce organization in Hamburg that is building out its demand planning and supply chain analytics capabilities. This is a true development role for someone early in their career who wants to grow into demand planning while working with modern planning platforms and real inventory decisions.

You don't need to be an experienced demand planner yet. Our client values analytical strength, learning ability, and the desire to understand why products go out of stock, when to reorder, and how to manage inventory more intelligently. This is your entry point into professional demand planning.

Responsibilities

• Become a key user of the organization's demand and inventory planning platform, developing its usage alongside the supply chain team
• Monitor sales performance, inventory levels, and stock coverage at product level
• Analyze and validate system-generated forecasts and demand projections
• Identify early risks including potential stockouts, overstock situations, or critical inventory trends
• Track reorder requirements and support determination of optimal reorder timing and quantities
• Analyze delivery times, supplier performance, and relevant supplier KPIs
• Factor in business drivers such as product launches, lifecycle stages, promotions, and assortment changes in planning activities
• Ensure high data quality and identify inconsistencies or missing information
• Create transparent analyses and decision support for the supply chain team
• Collaborate closely with supply chain, procurement, transportation planning, and product lifecycle management teams
• Critically evaluate system outputs and help continuously improve planning logic
• Gradually assume greater responsibility for demand planning and inventory control as experience grows

What We're Looking For

• Completed commercial apprenticeship or degree in business administration, supply chain management, logistics, economics, or comparable field
• Early career professional or someone with initial relevant work experience
• Prior experience in supply chain, purchasing, inventory management, controlling, e-commerce, or data analysis is advantageous but not required
• Strong numerical aptitude and analytical thinking capabilities
• Proficient in Excel or Google Sheets
• High affinity for digital systems, data, and new tools
• Structured, reliable working style with ability to maintain overview across many data points
• Desire to understand how system results are generated rather than simply accepting them
• Quick learner who takes ownership and is eager to develop professionally
• Clear communicator comfortable working with diverse teams and functional areas
• Fluent German and good professional English required
• Must be eligible to work in Germany; our client cannot provide visa sponsorship
