Field Application Engineer – AI Software & Hardware

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential AI hardware organization seeking a Field Application Engineer to serve as the technical bridge between our client's cutting-edge solutions and their enterprise customers. In this customer-facing role, you will work closely with the sales team to drive adoption of AI platforms and accelerators through hands-on technical engagement.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Working directly with customers in meetings, presentations, and workshops to understand their technical challenges and architect effective AI/ML solutions
• Demonstrating and deploying AI software stacks, frameworks, and hardware accelerators in real-world enterprise environments
• Translating complex technical concepts for both technical and non-technical stakeholders, from researchers to executive leadership
• Partnering closely with sales operations and product teams to provide field feedback that shapes future product enhancements and roadmap priorities
• Troubleshooting and optimizing AI workloads, including LLMs, generative models, and vision applications on specialized hardware
• Supporting proof-of-concept deployments and guiding customers through integration and scale-up phases

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate brings deep AI/ML expertise combined with proven customer-facing technical skills. Our client needs someone who has worked in the trenches and knows how to make complex technology "just work" for enterprise customers.

Required qualifications:

• 5+ years of relevant technical experience in customer-facing roles such as Sales Engineer, Solutions Engineer, Field Application Engineer, or Technical Account Manager
• Proven expertise in AI technologies and frameworks, including machine learning, deep learning, natural language processing, or computer vision
• Hands-on experience with PyTorch or TensorFlow and modern AI development workflows
• Experience with embedded systems, FPGA architecture, or AI accelerators
• Strong understanding of data center environments, server architecture and deployment, thermal and power considerations, and infrastructure management
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to break down complex technical concepts for diverse audiences
• Experience working collaboratively with sales and product teams in a fast-paced technical environment

Desirable experience:

• Background in solutions architecture or technical consulting for AI/ML platforms
• Familiarity with fine-tuning LLMs, optimizing vision models, and building AI pipelines at scale
• Knowledge of custom silicon architectures and AI acceleration technologies

This is a remote position based in Munich, Germany. Our client welcomes candidates at various experience levels and will assess the appropriate seniority during the interview process.
