About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential medical technology organization in Munich seeking an experienced Technical Product Owner to lead a critical C++ SDK that serves as the foundation for multiple products and engineering initiatives. This role combines technical depth with strategic product ownership and offers a clear path toward functional and people leadership responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Own and continuously develop the product vision, roadmap, backlog, and prioritization for a core C++ SDK and associated platform
• Align SDK roadmap with broader platform strategy and organizational objectives
• Gather and synthesize requirements from customers, internal stakeholders, product teams, and engineering, translating them into clear priorities
• Coordinate development activities and releases across multiple teams and components to ensure coherent product delivery
• Manage timelines, dependencies, risks, capacity planning, and technical trade-offs
• Balance immediate delivery needs with technical quality and long-term product evolution
• Drive resource planning, support team growth, and transition into functional and people leadership over time

What We're Looking For

Required Experience and Skills:

• Several years of professional software engineering experience with solid programming and development fundamentals
• Proven track record owning or coordinating technically complex software products, platforms, or large-scale engineering initiatives
• Demonstrated experience developing roadmaps, managing requirements, setting priorities, and coordinating delivery across multiple teams and stakeholders
• Experience coordinating, mentoring, or enabling software engineers; formal leadership experience is advantageous
• Strong understanding of APIs, software architecture, testing practices, technical debt management, maintainability, versioning, and backwards compatibility
• Experience with capacity and resource planning, including translating roadmap requirements into staffing needs
• Hands-on experience adapting SDK requirements, architecture, and product roadmaps in response to AI technology advances

Nice to Have:

• Experience with C++ development or ownership of C++-based products or platforms
• Background with developer-facing products or SDKs
• Experience in medical imaging, computer vision, or similar technically complex software domains
• Based in Munich or surrounding area with ability to work regularly from the Munich office
