About This Opportunity
We are representing a fast-growing insurtech organization that is transforming how motor insurance is delivered across multiple European markets. Our client is seeking Data Scientists to join their Pricing & Underwriting function in London, where you'll work at the intersection of advanced analytics, machine learning, and commercial strategy to shape pricing decisions that impact millions of customers.
This is a high-impact role where your models and insights directly influence business growth and competitive positioning. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to turn complex data into actionable pricing strategies, working in a data-driven environment that values innovation and analytical rigor.
Responsibilities
- Leverage data to identify risks, opportunities and key pricing drivers, turning complex information into actionable insights that influence strategic decision making
- Develop and deploy machine learning and advanced analytics models for risk assessment and pricing that power real-time insurance pricing at scale
- Contribute directly to business growth and long-term success through innovative modeling, experimentation and commercially impactful insights
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate analytical findings into practical business applications
What We're Looking For
- Strong academic background in Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Data Science, Computer Science or Statistics
- Strong quantitative, logical and analytical abilities with a solid foundation in statistics, probability and advanced analytics
- Curious, proactive and innovative mindset focused on solving complex problems
- Fluency in English, both spoken and written
- Strong communication skills with the ability to challenge assumptions and drive new ideas
- Solid foundation in code development and machine learning, ideally in Python
- Experience creating, manipulating and analyzing large datasets

Pay
Our client offers competitive compensation with salaries starting from £80,000 up to £160,000, depending on experience and expertise. The role also includes full flexibility to work from home, the office, or a hybrid arrangement, plus the ability to work from anywhere for up to 30 days per year.
