Applied AI Engineer – AI Finance Agent

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential fintech organization operating across Southeast Asia. Our talent team is searching for an Applied AI Engineer to join their expanding AI development initiative in Taiwan. This is a hybrid role requiring at least three days per week on-site.

This is a builder role focused on shipping production AI systems that automate real workflows across financial operations. You'll be creating AI-native tools that reduce manual work, improve customer experiences, and scale operational efficiency across support, claims, payments, and internal systems.

Responsibilities

• Build and deploy AI-powered workflows, assistants, agents, and automation systems for production use
• Apply AI capabilities across customer support, CRM operations, onboarding processes, claims handling, renewals, payment workflows, and internal tooling
• Partner with product and engineering teams to convert manual processes into scalable AI-native systems
• Develop integrations connecting LLMs with internal data sources, APIs, documents, knowledge bases, and business systems
• Design evaluation frameworks, monitoring systems, and fallback flows to ensure AI outputs remain useful, safe, and reliable
• Rapidly prototype solutions, validate with end users or operators, then productionize what delivers value
• Continuously improve speed, quality, and consistency across workflows by applying AI where it creates measurable business impact

What We're Looking For

• Strong software engineering foundation, preferably with Python and backend system development
• Hands-on experience building production systems using LLM APIs, agents, RAG architectures, workflow automation, or AI tooling
• Demonstrated ability to integrate AI systems with real product features, data pipelines, and operational workflows
• Sound judgment determining when AI adds value versus when rule-based systems or human review are more appropriate
• Deep understanding of evaluation methods, accuracy metrics, latency considerations, cost optimization, privacy requirements, and failure mode handling
• Track record as a fast builder who can prototype, test, and ship practical systems efficiently
• Experience in fintech, insurance operations, support automation, CRM systems, or operations automation is strongly preferred
• Strong English communication skills required for cross-functional collaboration with global teams
