Data Scientist Manager

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential data consultancy that is seeking a Data Scientist Manager to join their Paris team. In this role, you will lead the design, delivery, and scaling of AI projects for enterprise clients across multiple industries.

Your core responsibilities will include:

• Leading end-to-end client projects from use case framing with business stakeholders through implementation of AI solutions that deliver measurable business impact
• Ensuring technical excellence by promoting software engineering and MLOps best practices to deliver scalable, production-ready solutions
• Supporting solution design by challenging business requirements, validating data availability, and selecting appropriate methodologies and architectures
• Serving as the technical reference for clients, explaining AI approaches clearly and providing recommendations on feasibility, risks, and ROI
• Building trusted client relationships through regular interaction with C-level executives and operational teams

Beyond project delivery, you will manage the local data science team:

• Support team staffing to ensure the right skills are matched to project needs
• Foster individual growth through mentoring, coaching, and career development planning
• Participate in defining career frameworks and performance review processes
• Drive innovation and continuous improvement in team practices and methodologies

You will also contribute to technical advancement:

• Test and implement advanced AI approaches and emerging techniques on client use cases
• Build internal accelerators, reusable modules, and tools that enhance delivery efficiency
• Maintain active technology awareness by evaluating new frameworks, tools, and cloud services
• Share knowledge through workshops, training sessions, and documentation
• Lead by example with technical rigor and pragmatic problem-solving
• Balance innovation with realistic delivery expectations

What We're Looking For

Our client seeks candidates with:

• 5+ years of hands-on experience developing data-driven solutions
• Strong knowledge in applied machine learning and generative AI
• Solid understanding of software engineering and MLOps best practices
• Experience industrializing AI workflows in cloud environments
• Proven ability to lead teams, manage stakeholders, and deliver impactful projects in business contexts
• Intellectual curiosity and excellent problem-solving skills
• Pragmatic and creative approach to tackling challenges
• Track record of mentoring junior team members and constructively challenging senior colleagues
• Ability to earn trust from both technical peers and business stakeholders
• Fluency in French and English is required for this Paris-based position
