About This Opportunity
We are representing a confidential SaaS organization in their search for a Senior DevOps Engineer (AWS) based in Croatia. Our client operates a mission-critical cloud platform serving customers globally, and they need an infrastructure expert who can design for scale, build for reliability, and champion security-first practices.
This is a fully remote role where you'll own critical AWS infrastructure, lead observability initiatives, and drive operational excellence across the platform. If you thrive in complex cloud environments and want your work to have tangible impact, we'd like to introduce you.
Responsibilities

- Own reliability, performance, and security of production environments with a focus on high uptime and rapid incident resolution
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, and infrastructure-as-code using Terraform, Terragrunt, and Chef
- Monitor system health using enterprise observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, DataDog), defining metrics and response playbooks
- Lead security-first practices across the infrastructure estate, addressing vulnerabilities and driving SOC 2 compliance
- Partner with engineering teams to integrate operational requirements into the development lifecycle
- Champion AI adoption within DevOps and SRE workflows, evaluating tooling that increases velocity
- Respond to on-call incidents, troubleshoot complex issues, and lead root cause analyses with durable fixes

- Proven troubleshooting skills and track record leading root cause analyses
- Proficiency reading Java, Ruby, Bash/Zsh, HCL, Python, and JavaScript
- Experience with SOC 2 compliance and security-first infrastructure practices
- Comfort with weekly on-call rotation
Strong candidates may also have:
- Experience migrating workloads from on-premises or colocation environments to AWS
