We are representing a confidential healthcare technology organization in their search for a Senior Data Engineer. Our client is a well-recognized provider of revenue cycle management solutions serving hospitals and health systems nationwide. This fully remote role offers the opportunity to work on complex data challenges in a mission-critical healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test, deploy, monitor, and continuously improve scalable data pipelines and API integrations that support healthcare revenue cycle operations
• Apply generative AI tools in day-to-day engineering work to accelerate development and improve code quality
• Translate product and business concepts into incremental, high-quality technical deliverables
• Participate in hands-on design sessions and conduct thorough code reviews with engineering teams
• Implement data quality monitoring systems to ensure accurate, reliable production data across complex healthcare datasets
• Review and recommend architectural patterns aligned with enterprise platforms and industry best practices
• Design and maintain robust data architectures and integrations supporting enterprise analytics and reporting
• Ensure data security and compliance with healthcare data standards while implementing best practices for ETL processes and database optimization
• Proactively monitor system performance to ensure reliability and scalability of data solutions

What We're Looking For

• 6+ years of hands-on experience developing solutions using Microsoft SQL
• 3+ years working with big data technologies such as Databricks, Apache Spark, Python, and Microsoft Azure (ADF, Dataflows, Azure Functions, Service Bus)
• Strong understanding of engineering fundamentals including automated testing, code reviews, telemetry, iterative delivery, and DevOps practices
• Experience with polyglot storage architectures including relational, columnar, key-value, and graph systems
• Hands-on experience with Delta Lake tables and Parquet data stored in ADLS
• Experience building distributed, componentized applications using event-driven patterns
• Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical, globally distributed audiences
• Solid foundation in software architecture, design patterns, and engineering best practices
• Experience working with healthcare datasets; familiarity with HL7 or EDI standards is a plus
• High attention to detail and a strong sense of ownership
• Inquisitive mindset with openness to innovation, including AI, to explore better processes and improve patient and client experiences
• Willingness to travel occasionally to client, temporary, or corporate office locations as business needs require
