About This Opportunity
Our talent team is representing a confidential UK-based marketplace organization in their search for an Agile Coach on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This is a remote-first opportunity for someone who can truly embed with product engineering teams and drive meaningful change.
This role goes beyond ceremony facilitation. You'll work deeply with cross-functional squads—spending extended periods (such as a full quarter) embedded with one or two teams at a time, building the trust and relationships needed to transform how they discover, deliver, and measure impact. You'll coach teams through dual-track development, shift-left quality practices, and the critical transition from output-focused to outcome-driven ways of working.
Responsibilities
- Coach product engineering squads to embed effective agile and product-centric practices, including dual-track ways of working where discovery runs alongside delivery
- Guide teams as they mature their delivery practices and adopt product-centered planning and prioritization approaches
- Coach teams on outcomes over output, helping them understand whether shipped features achieved the desired customer and business impact
- Facilitate team-level meetings including refinement, retrospectives, and planning sessions as part of team coaching
- Help drive shift-left quality approaches and eliminate blockers through creative conversation
- Act as a catalyst for change and experimentation, embedding an agile mindset without imposing rigid frameworks
- Coach teams to maintain clear visualization of roadmaps, delivery plans, and progress, ensuring consistency across squads
- Own the cadence of cross-squad sessions such as show-and-tells and team learnings, ensuring knowledge travels beyond individual teams
- Identify opportunities where AI can genuinely accelerate team effectiveness and integrate these into daily workflows
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience as an Agile Coach working with cross-functional, self-organizing teams
- Background in fast-paced, customer-centric scale-up environments
- Experience in remote-first, high-performance organizations
- Deep understanding of Agile and Lean thinking, values, and principles
- Hands-on experience applying frameworks such as Scrum, Kanban, DevOps, and XP, with a track record of combining approaches effectively
- Experience teaching agile practices including user story mapping, event storming, example mapping, and slicing techniques
- Track record of coaching teams on outcomes over output and continuous product discovery and delivery
- Comfortable holding people accountable to agreed team practices and working with team members to close gaps
- Progressive understanding of emerging agile practices, including how AI is transforming team workflows
- Servant-leader mentality with genuine passion for helping others succeed and grow
This role may not be the right fit if:
- You're more comfortable as a delivery or project manager than a coach
- You prefer fully defined roles rather than helping shape a new position
- Your experience is primarily in large enterprise environments with heavy process infrastructure
- You rely heavily on frameworks and certifications over understanding the underlying principles
