Senior Project Manager Photovoltaic & Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), (M/F/D)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential engineering consultancy specializing in renewable energy infrastructure. Our client works on large-scale photovoltaic and battery energy storage projects globally, serving international finance institutions, utilities, and private developers. This Senior Project Manager role is based in Fontainebleau, France, and offers the chance to lead complex solar and BESS initiatives from feasibility through construction.

Responsibilities

• Lead photovoltaic and battery energy storage system projects as Senior Project Manager for clients including international finance institutions, utilities, and private developers worldwide
• Manage development-phase activities: feasibility studies, system sizing and optimization, CAPEX/OPEX estimation, conceptual and detailed design, grid studies, and energy master planning
• Direct technical due diligence, lender's technical advisor assignments, and transaction advisory projects
• Oversee implementation phases including tender design, EPC/IPP offer evaluation, executive design validation, and construction supervision through commissioning and O&M
• Serve as technical interface between suppliers, contractors, and clients; monitor market trends, technology developments, and new products
• Contribute to standardization of engineering processes to enhance efficiency and quality
• Support international business development through proposal preparation and client engagement

What We're Looking For

• Degree in energy, electrical engineering, or related field with focus on renewable energy, photovoltaics, or energy storage systems
• Minimum 10 years of experience in large-scale photovoltaic and battery systems with strong project management and engineering capabilities
• Proficiency with energy modeling software such as PVSyst, HOMER PRO, and power system tools (Power Factory, PSS/E)
• Understanding of technical aspects of PPA and EPC contracts, particularly performance metrics and penalty structures
• Excellent writing skills and very good written and spoken English and French
• Experience with wind and green hydrogen projects is a plus
