About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential technology organization at the forefront of logistics automation. Our client is seeking a Head of Analytics to lead the insight agenda for their Last Mile operations in London. This is a hybrid role offering the opportunity to drive transformational change in one of the most operationally complex domains in modern retail technology.

As Head of Analytics for Last Mile, you will take full ownership of turning advanced analytical and AI capabilities into tangible operational value. This highly influential, cross-functional position sits on the Data & Analytics leadership team and focuses heavily on stakeholder adoption, cross-team collaboration, and delivering measurable business impact through influence rather than direct authority.

Responsibilities

• Drive last-mile efficiency by conceptualizing opportunities, developing strategic approaches, and assembling the right cross-functional teams to optimize current operations
• Deliver operational value by turning advanced analytical and AI capabilities into operational reality, including improving store operations, maximizing fulfillment efficiency, and optimizing capacity utilization
• Enable better decision-making to support a higher volume of successfully fulfilled orders through data-driven operational decisions
• Lead and develop the Last Mile analytics team, establishing clear standards for work prioritization, scoping, and communication
• Nurture talent by overseeing the technical and communication development of analysts to ensure insights are actionable, impactful, and easily understood by the business
• Foster an experimentation culture by championing innovation, negotiating decision rights, setting clear evidence standards, and encouraging testing over instinctual decision-making
• Manage AI foundations by owning the semantic and context layers for Last Mile, ensuring business definitions and metric logic remain accurate
• Optimize feedback loops between AI outputs and ground truth, working with central enablement functions to help stakeholders adopt and use these tools confidently

What We're Looking For

Essential Requirements:

• Background in management consultancy or similarly complex multi-stakeholder environments with proven ability to structure ambiguous problems, create alignment around shared vision, and comfortably challenge existing thinking at senior/VP level
• Exceptional communication and leadership skills with a track record of driving change and bringing together disparate teams through pure influence rather than direct reporting lines
• High energy, charismatic, and collaborative mindset with experience leading an analytics or change function through substantive operational methodology shifts
• Strong, grounded understanding of current AI tools and data platforms with the ability to distinguish genuinely useful solutions from noise and successfully translate complex AI/data capabilities into commercial, operational business value
• Solid analytical foundations necessary to set team standards for experimentation, metric architecture, and validating model efficacy alongside Data Science partners

Nice to Have:

• Experience within operational, logistics, or last-mile environments, bringing strong real-world context to data analysis
• History of working alongside data science or machine learning functions, understanding how to bridge analytics and operational modeling
• Exposure to semantic layer tooling, data cataloguing, or AI evaluation frameworks
