About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential fintech client in their search for a Head of India. This is a rare opportunity to own the P&L for the world's largest remittance market, driving strategy, pricing, and growth across one of the most dynamic corridors in cross-border finance.

Our client operates across multiple continents, serving diaspora communities with digital financial services. India represents over $130 billion in annual remittance volume, and you will be responsible for winning market share across every major sending corridor—from North America to Europe, the Middle East to Australia.

This role reports to senior leadership and offers genuine GM-level authority. You will set pricing, own unit economics, build teams in both sending and receiving markets, and navigate the regulatory landscape with the Reserve Bank of India. Based in London, you will work closely with communities across the Indian diaspora and travel regularly to India and key sending markets.

Responsibilities

• Own the India P&L including volume, gross profit, and customer acquisition cost across all corridors
• Develop and execute market entry strategy: which sender markets, which diaspora communities, which channels, in what sequence
• Set FX and fee pricing strategy corridor by corridor in a highly competitive, rate-sensitive market
• Manage RBI regulatory compliance, bank partnerships, and payout infrastructure relationships
• Drive product development based on direct customer insight and NRI community needs
• Build authentic community partnerships including cultural organizations, festivals, remittance-heavy employers, and influencer networks
• Hire, coach, and retain high-performing teams in India and across sending markets
• Work directly with data: analyze unit economics, CAC math, and corridor-level performance metrics

What We're Looking For

• 10–15 years of experience in high-growth startups, operations, consulting, finance, or fintech environments
• Track record of owning a P&L or similarly accountable commercial metrics
• Deep knowledge of and authentic networks within the Indian diaspora—migration patterns, community structures, remittance behaviors
• Strong commercial acumen: comfortable with pricing strategy, unit economics, CAC analysis, and working directly in Excel or Google Sheets; SQL skills are a significant plus
• Understanding of (or ability to quickly master) Reserve Bank of India remittance regulations and compliance frameworks
• Entrepreneurial mindset: comfortable closing partnerships, reviewing margin data, and engaging communities on the ground
• Fluent in English; proficiency in Hindi, Gujarati, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, or Malayalam is a strong asset
• Located in or willing to relocate to London; regular travel to India and sending markets required
