Data Consultant – SQL

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential financial services consulting organization seeking Data Consultants at multiple levels for their London office. Our client operates in a hybrid work model and is expanding their data, analytics, and technology practice. This role offers strong exposure to tier-1 financial institutions and complex data transformation programmes.

Responsibilities

• Support clients across data programmes spanning strategy development through to analytics delivery and implementation
• Advise on data-driven decision making including predictive analytics, machine learning, and AI applications
• Shape and deliver complex data transformation projects for established financial services clients
• Apply NLP tooling and proprietary technology to solve client challenges
• Manage critical data elements for regulatory reporting including data lineage, quality monitoring, and incident management
• Identify business development opportunities and collaborate on proposals and campaigns
• Build and maintain trusted advisor relationships with client stakeholders

What We're Looking For

Required:

• Bachelor's degree
• Experience within financial services
• Valid UK work authorization
• Expertise in one or more of the following areas:
  • Project and change management with ability to shape and deliver data programmes
  • Data management practices and governance
  • Enterprise data architecture and logical data modeling
  • Programming languages: Python, SQL, or Spark
  • Data visualization tools: Qlik, Power BI, or Tableau
  • Data engineering: Hadoop, Kafka, SQL
  • Analytics platforms such as Alteryx or document intelligence software
  • Data quality and regulatory compliance (GDPR)
• Strong client engagement and stakeholder management capabilities
• Domain knowledge in Investment Banking, Retail Banking, Commercial Banking, or Wealth and Asset Management

Preferred:

• Strong presentation and proposal writing skills
• Agile methodology experience
• Prior consulting background
