Responsibilities
We are representing a confidential precision optics organization seeking a Senior Optronics Systems Engineer. In this role, you will own technical project responsibility across all development phases—from initial concept through series production and beyond.
Your core responsibilities include:
- Leading system integration of precision optical instruments, coordinating interfaces between optics, mechanical design, electronics, and software
- Managing requirements and developing specifications based on market needs and customer feedback
- Ensuring quality through systematic interface validation across engineering disciplines
- Serving as the technical point of contact for complex technical questions with internal and external partners
- Coordinating suppliers and supporting production readiness and quality processes
- Monitoring technology trends and innovative material developments to maintain cutting-edge expertise
- Conducting independent research and development projects (up to Technology Readiness Level 6) with the goal of establishing yourself as an internal and external subject matter expert
What We're Looking For
Our client requires a systems engineer with deep expertise in optical precision technology and the ability to translate complex requirements into innovative solutions.
Required qualifications:
- Master's degree (ETH/FH or equivalent university degree) in natural sciences or engineering
- Minimum 3 years of practical experience in product development with a systems perspective
- Specialized expertise in optical systems; practical experience in specialized application fields is advantageous
- Proven ability to manage projects within interdisciplinary teams
- Strong analytical skills, systematic problem-solving approach, and clear communication abilities
- Familiarity with modern development methodologies
- Fluent professional proficiency in both German and English
This position is based in the Rheintal region of Switzerland. If you are not currently residing in the Lake Constance area, our talent team will support you step-by-step with relocation.
