Senior Software Engineer | Identity and Access Management | Full-Stack

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential AI technology company in their search for a Senior Software Engineer to join their Identity and Access Management team in London. Our client is building enterprise-grade identity solutions that serve hundreds of thousands of business customers globally.

This is a full-stack role with emphasis on backend engineering (80-90% backend, with frontend work in React/JavaScript as a plus). You'll own the complete identity stack including organization and account management, session handling, SSO federation, SCIM provisioning, and OIDC provider functionality for both internal and external users.

The position offers hybrid work arrangements with two days per week in their London office, flexible hours, and the opportunity to work on mission-critical infrastructure that underpins every product the organization offers.

Responsibilities

• Architect and build complex, user-facing features across the identity stack from problem definition through deployment and production operations
• Own business-critical authentication and authorization systems end-to-end, ensuring high availability and reliability for millions of users
• Lead incident response and continuously improve code quality, operational health, and system maintainability
• Collaborate with product teams, Product Management, and Support to lead technical designs and solve complex product challenges
• Make pragmatic technology choices using the core stack (C#/.NET Core, Kubernetes, PostgreSQL) while ensuring long-term maintainability
• Leverage AI-powered development tools to accelerate velocity on boilerplate code, testing, and debugging
• Drive production reliability toward four nines uptime through comprehensive testing, monitoring, and incident post-mortems

What We're Looking For

• Deep expertise in designing scalable backend systems and distributed architectures at high scale
• Strong backend mastery with C# and.NET, with proven experience building production distributed systems
• Demonstrated system thinking: understanding failure modes, system boundaries, and architectural impact at scale
• Extreme ownership mindset: you own services end-to-end including production operations, incident response, and on-call responsibilities
• Interest in enterprise B2B SaaS identity challenges including SSO/OIDC, authorization, security, and auditing requirements
• Experience using AI-native development tools like GitHub Copilot or Claude to enhance productivity and focus on high-value architectural decisions
• Track record of measuring success by user impact rather than output metrics
• Ability to build for both reliability and user-friendly experiences in systems that cannot fail
