Lead Developer – Identity and Audience

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential streaming advertising technology company in Paris. This is a Lead Developer role focused on identity resolution and audience systems within their data platform infrastructure.

Our client operates at significant scale in the connected TV advertising space, processing identity data across millions of households. You will lead a small technical team responsible for the identity resolution engine that underpins targeting, measurement, and machine learning systems across the platform.

This is a player-coach position where you will remain hands-on with algorithms and architecture while providing technical leadership to senior engineers. The role exists because identity resolution at this scale has outgrown distributed ownership and requires dedicated technical direction as the industry shifts toward privacy-first approaches.

Responsibilities

• Set technical direction and roadmap for the identity resolution stack end to end
• Design and build clustering algorithms and pipelines that resolve identity at scale
• Make architecture decisions that balance performance and cost, with quantifiable impact
• Drive systematic improvements to identity resolution accuracy through evaluation frameworks
• Build observability into identity pipelines with meaningful alerts and service-level objectives
• Profile and optimize compute and storage across orchestration, distributed compute, and data lake technologies
• Extend identity capabilities into richer audience construction and attribution use cases
• Build platform-level tooling enabling other teams to resolve identity behind their events
• Lead senior engineers through 1:1s, feedback, and career development
• Represent identity concerns in cross-team data platform roadmap decisions
• Translate ambiguous stakeholder requests into concrete technical deliverables

What We're Looking For

• 8+ years building and operating production ML or data systems, including experience as tech lead, staff engineer, or team lead
• Hands-on experience with large-scale entity resolution, clustering, or graph problems with ability to own and challenge the algorithms themselves
• Strong distributed systems foundations across modern orchestrators (e.g. Dagster), distributed compute (e.g. Spark), and large-scale storage (e.g. Iceberg)
• Track record of building evaluation frameworks and using them to drive measurable algorithmic improvements
• Experience managing performance and cost at genuinely large data scale
• Strong cross-functional communication with ability to adjust detail level by audience and align stakeholders with conflicting priorities
• Fluent English required for this role

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience in streaming TV advertising or programmatic advertising
