Director of Product – Cards

About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential fintech organization seeking a Director of Product - Cards for their London office on a hybrid basis. This is a senior leadership position that will own and drive the strategic vision, roadmap, and execution for a comprehensive cards product offering. You'll be responsible for the full product lifecycle, working across multiple teams to deliver best-in-class solutions in the embedded banking space.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute the long-term product vision and strategy for cards offerings
• Build and manage the cards P&L, driving revenue optimization and commercial success
• Lead a cards team that coordinates with all operational functions to deliver a robust operating model
• Own end-to-end product delivery from ideation through enhancement and optimization
• Manage scheme compliance, billing structures, interchange requirements, and regulatory mandates
• Oversee customer authentication journeys and transaction authorization flows
• Support commercial teams in client dialogues, ensuring accurate representation of product capabilities
• Collaborate with card processing partners and manage scheme relationships

What We're Looking For

• Minimum 7 years' experience with card issuance, including debit card products
• Deep knowledge of card scheme frameworks and operational models (Visa experience preferred)
• Proven experience working with card processing partners in a technical capacity
• Strong commercial acumen with P&L ownership experience and pricing model development
• Minimum 5 years as a Senior Product Manager with demonstrated product leadership
• Exceptional stakeholder management skills across technical and business functions
• Understanding of operational requirements including fraud and risk management, customer servicing, PCI compliance, and reconciliation processes
• Solutions-focused mindset with ability to drive positive outcomes for customers and colleagues
• Collaborative approach with strong relationship-building capabilities
