About This Opportunity
We are representing a confidential sustainability consultancy based in Cologne that supports industrial and mid-market organizations on their journey toward sustainable energy systems. Our client is developing AI-powered tools to automate energy audit creation and streamline internal workflows. As their talent team, we're seeking a working student (Werkstudent) to join their process automation and software development initiatives.
In this role, you'll work on developing AI agents and agent workflows that analyze data, structure content, generate evaluations, and support automated audit report creation. This is a hands-on opportunity to build tools that are actively used within a growing organization focused on the energy transition.
Responsibilities
- Develop and enhance AI-powered workflows for automated energy audit generation
- Build, test, and improve AI agents using AWS Bedrock, Claude, and Python
- Translate domain-specific audit processes into structured agent workflows for data evaluation, plausibility checks, text generation, and report creation
- Prepare, analyze, and structure project and energy data
- Create automated evaluations and visualizations using Plotly
- Ensure quality of AI-generated content regarding technical accuracy, traceability, and usability
- Document workflows, prompts, data structures, and technical decisions
What We're Looking For
- Currently enrolled in a technical, scientific, business, or computer science-related program (e.g., Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, Energy/Environmental Technology, Data Science, Mathematics)
- Interest in sustainability, energy transition, digitalization, and AI-powered automation
- Analytical thinking and structured working approach
- Motivation to learn new technologies, work independently, and take ownership
- Ability to understand complex domain processes and user needs
Helpful but not required experience in one or more of the following:
- Python for data processing, automation, or backend logic
- Large Language Models and AI agents
- AWS Bedrock or other cloud and AI infrastructures
- Prompt engineering and structured agent workflows
- Data visualization tools such as Plotly
- Data processing and structured information storage
- Basic understanding of APIs, databases, or web development
Work arrangement: Minimum 3 days per week in coworking space in Cologne; remote work possible for remaining days. This is a student position (Werkstudentenstelle).
