Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential hospitality organization seeking a Technical Director to lead the technical operations across a multi-site hotel portfolio. In this role, you will:

• Ensure fault-free technical operations and maintenance across all properties
• Lead the technical team and provide strategic direction to regional and site-based technical managers
• Develop investment and maintenance strategies in collaboration with individual locations
• Oversee maintenance schedules, regulatory inspections, and compliance with legal requirements and corporate standards
• Take responsibility for technical cost management, energy efficiency, and asset preservation
• Coordinate technical measures across building systems, infrastructure, and commercial property management
• Manage tender processes, vendor relationships, and collaboration with external service providers and internal engineering teams
• Organize training sessions and technical meetings for site-level leadership
• Develop and optimize centralized maintenance and procurement contracts
• Drive digital transformation of technical processes and workflows across the organization

What We're Looking For

Our client requires a seasoned technical leader with deep hospitality experience:

• Completed technical degree (mechanical engineering, marine engineering, HVAC systems, facility management, or comparable field)
• Minimum 10 years professional experience, including at least 5 years in hotel technical management
• Broad understanding of building systems, operations technology, infrastructure, and utilities
• Proven experience leading decentralized teams and organizations
• Strong background in project management and change leadership
• High digital and IT affinity, ideally with facility management systems experience
• Business-fluent German language skills
• Willingness to travel regularly (approximately 3-4 days per week)
• Valid Class B driver's license

Pay

This permanent position offers €100,000 - €140,000 annual salary, company car for private use, and automatic annual salary increases. The role is based in Bielefeld with significant flexibility including remote work options and one fixed office day per week.
