PHP Backend Developer (m/w/d)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential software company based in Regensburg that specializes in enterprise wiki and knowledge management solutions. Our talent team is seeking a PHP Backend Developer to join their technical team and contribute to scalable, high-performance backend systems.

This role offers the opportunity to work with modern PHP frameworks, cloud infrastructure, and collaborative development practices in a team that values clean code and technical excellence.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain backend solutions using PHP for enterprise software applications
• Contribute to the architecture and implementation of scalable, secure, and performant systems
• Integrate APIs and external services into existing platforms
• Optimize existing backend processes and refactor code for improved performance
• Collaborate closely with frontend developers to ensure seamless product integration
• Conduct code reviews and contribute to the evolution of development best practices
• Participate in planning and implementation of new features

What We're Looking For

• At least 3 years of professional experience in PHP development
• Experience with MediaWiki is highly beneficial; familiarity with Symfony is a plus
• Strong knowledge of RESTful API development
• Experience with relational databases such as MySQL or MariaDB
• Proficiency with version control systems, particularly Git
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and automation tools
• Experience with cloud environments and server management; Docker skills are advantageous
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and capacity for independent work
• Structured, solution-oriented approach with strong team and communication skills
• High level of conscientiousness and self-organization
• Fluent English, both written and spoken
