SEO / GEO Lead (m/w/d)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential cleantech organization that is building the intelligent energy infrastructure of tomorrow. Our client operates across multiple European and international markets, combining hardware installation with advanced software systems. We're seeking an experienced SEO/GEO Lead to drive organic growth across all markets and position content for both traditional and AI-powered search.

This role is based in Berlin with flexible remote options.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the global SEO and GEO strategy across multiple markets, from Finland to Australia, prioritizing initiatives that drive qualified leads and reduce customer acquisition costs
• Build content-driven organic growth models that scale across markets, from keyword research and competitive analysis through to content roadmaps and quality assurance
• Optimize for both traditional search (Google SERP) and AI-powered search platforms (ChatGPT, Perplexity, AI Overviews), making visibility measurable and actionable
• Lead and develop a small team while managing agency and freelance relationships, from briefings to budget oversight
• Collaborate with Content Managers to align search strategy with editorial quality, bringing the search perspective while they provide content expertise
• Build automated SEO workflows using LLMs and tools like n8n or Make for briefings, content QA, and monitoring
• Maintain technical SEO health using Search Console, Ahrefs, Screaming Frog, and GA4, translating findings into concrete actions
• Empower local market teams with clear briefings, shared standards, and feedback loops that inform global strategy
• Balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution—you'll develop roadmaps and dive into crawl data yourself

What We're Looking For

• 6+ years of SEO experience (in-house or agency), including strategic responsibility across multiple markets
• Proven track record building and owning content-driven organic growth models, not just executing them
• Success measured by qualified leads and contribution to CAC—you understand that traffic without conversions isn't success
• Experience leading people or providing technical guidance, plus managing external service providers
• Interest in developing a small team rather than managing a large one
• Strong command of SEO and analytics tools with data-driven decision-making approach
• Daily hands-on experience with LLMs, having built your own automations
• Deep knowledge of AI Search evolution—you spot changes early and know how to respond
• Strategic mindset combined with willingness to work in spreadsheets, crawl reports, and briefing documents yourself
• Ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders through clear arguments and reliable execution
• Fluent German and English (C-level proficiency required)
