Full Stack Engineer

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential fintech organization expanding their digital banking platform across Asia-Pacific. Our talent team is searching for a Full Stack Engineer to join their Japan-based product engineering team.

This is a hybrid role requiring at least 3 days per week in their Japan office. You'll work on a fast-moving platform that spans customer-facing applications, internal automation, and operational tooling across multiple financial products.

Responsibilities

• Build and ship complete product features across frontend, backend, APIs and databases
• Develop customer and internal workflows including onboarding, accounts, payments, rewards, support automation, KYC and risk management
• Transform ambiguous product requirements into working systems with intuitive UX and reliable backend logic
• Collaborate with product, design, mobile, backend and AI engineering teams to launch quickly and iterate
• Create internal tools and automation that eliminate manual processes and enable team scalability
• Maintain ownership beyond initial release through monitoring, debugging, and continuous improvement

What We're Looking For

• Proven full stack engineering experience with shipped production applications
• Proficiency across frontend, backend, APIs, databases and production debugging
• Strong frontend development skills using React, Next.js, Vue or similar modern frameworks
• Solid backend fundamentals including API design, data modeling, authentication, third-party integrations and system reliability
• Product mindset with ability to simplify complex user workflows
• Ability to work effectively with ambiguity and deliver end-to-end outcomes
• Strong English communication skills for global team collaboration
• Track record of personally building, shipping or scaling significant products or systems

This role is not suitable for: Engineers seeking to work on a single technical layer, those requiring complete specifications before beginning work, developers who don't consider operational impact, or candidates who avoid production support responsibilities.
