About the Role

As a Direct Support Professional (DSP 1) with YAI in Westchester County, you'll be at the heart of our mission to empower and support people with diverse needs. Your Responsibilities

• Assist individuals with activities of daily living, including bathing, grooming, dressing, and meal preparation
• Monitor and support physical and emotional well-being, responding to individual needs with attentiveness and care
• Facilitate community participation and recreational activities that promote independence and social engagement
• Maintain clear documentation and communicate regularly with your supervisor and team regarding individual progress and concerns
• Support individuals in developing life skills and achieving personal goals in a respectful, dignity-centered manner
• Respond to behavioral or health concerns following established protocols and organizational guidelines

What We're Looking For

• High school diploma or GED
• Valid driver's license and reliable access to transportation
• Genuine compassion and respect for the individuals you'll support
• Ability to work flexible schedules, including potential evenings, weekends, and holidays as assigned
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with colleagues
• Dependability, responsibility, and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality
• Willingness to complete required training and certifications
