Senior Accountant

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential SaaS organization in their search for a Senior Accountant to join their central finance function. Our client operates a portfolio structure across multiple international entities and is looking for an experienced accounting professional to take ownership of operational accounting for several legal entities within their growing group.

This is a fully remote position open to candidates located anywhere in Europe. You'll report to the Director of Accounting and Tax and work closely with senior finance leadership across the portfolio. This role offers excellent exposure to consolidation, multi-GAAP environments, and M&A activity as the organization continues to scale.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all operational accounting functions for multiple entities including billing, general ledger, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, revenue recognition, and tax
• Maintain general ledger reconciliations with proper documentation for all balance sheet accounts
• Prepare financial reporting, analysis, and commentary for your entity portfolio and support monthly group consolidation reporting
• Manage annual financial statements and audits, prepare and file VAT, sales tax, and GST returns
• Support leadership in tax matters and international billing structure, monitor and prepare intercompany transactions
• Coordinate with external accountants, tax advisors, auditors, and service providers
• Supervise and continuously optimize accounting principles, practices, procedures, and initiatives

What We're Looking For

Must-have requirements:

• Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience with NetSuite
• Proven experience running/owning multi-GAAP accounting for a legal entity (for example, managing a European subsidiary that reports under local statutory requirements while also feeding into group reporting under US GAAP)
• Strong AI literacy with hands-on experience using AI tools and LLMs to automate and improve day-to-day accounting workflows

Also important:

• Bachelor's degree in accountancy or similar qualification
• At least 5 years of experience as an accountant
• Prior work experience at a SaaS or software company
• Experience with billing or revenue recognition platforms (such as Stripe or Chargebee)
• Well-rounded accounting experience across AR, AP, payroll, general ledger, tax, and audit
• Experience supporting annual audits
• Independent, structured, solution-oriented, and analytical working style
• Excellent time management skills and ability to meet financial close deadlines
• Strong English communication skills (written and verbal)
