About This Opportunity
We are representing a confidential AI technology client in London who is building enterprise software at significant scale. This is a rare opportunity to join as the foundational security engineering hire and define how security scales alongside rapid growth.
Our client works with major enterprises globally and has recently secured substantial Series A funding. Security is central to their customer relationships, and they need someone who can both build and operate – shipping security features directly into the product while maintaining day-to-day operational excellence.
Responsibilities
You will own the security posture end-to-end, balancing hands-on engineering work with operational security leadership:
- Design and build security features that ship in the product – including BYOK per tenant, SIEM-compatible audit logs, and SSO/SCIM implementations – working directly in the codebase alongside product engineers
- Act as the technical security point of contact for enterprise customers, completing security questionnaires, navigating data handling requirements, and engaging with client CISOs during due diligence
- Monitor and harden cloud infrastructure, tracking security recommendations, driving remediation, and making pragmatic risk decisions
- Investigate and respond to security alerts across endpoint, cloud, and application environments
- Build out detection and monitoring capabilities, evolving SIEM implementations with meaningful alerting
- Own vulnerability management from triage through resolution, including proactive threat hunting and supply chain risk assessment
- Run and refine security scanning across infrastructure, applications, and dependencies
What We're Looking For
This role requires both security expertise and software engineering capability:
- 3-7 years of security engineering experience, with comfort reading and writing code as part of your daily work
- Hands-on experience shipping security features as a software engineer – examples include BYOK implementations, SSO/SCIM integrations, or audit logging systems
- Practical experience with enterprise security requirements, including completing security questionnaires and navigating contractual security obligations
- Confidence serving as the technical contact for developers, security leaders, and clients during security reviews
- Pragmatic judgment – able to balance security rigour with the velocity demands of a fast-moving organization
- Genuine enthusiasm for information security and a commitment to continuous learning
- Experience working with enterprise customers is valuable but not required
