Quality Systems Manager

Our client is seeking an experienced Quality Systems Manager to join their team in Reading. This role offers the opportunity to build and lead quality management systems for cutting-edge chiplet and interconnect technologies that are reshaping how AI hardware is designed and manufactured.

Responsibilities

• Design, deliver, and manage the quality management system (QMS) in accordance with ISO 9001:2015 and prepare for transition to the 2026 standard
• Administer and control quality documentation, including document management systems (DMS) and issues management systems (IMS)
• Conduct internal QMS audits, support supplier and customer audits, and manage corrective and preventative actions (CAPA)
• Champion customer and legislative-driven quality, environmental, and ethical initiatives including Responsible Business Alliance, cyber security, and greenhouse gas emissions
• Own and present quality metrics and improvement plans to the management team
• Manage internal quality processes including change management, 5S audits, and organizational risk management
• Communicate quality standards and expectations to suppliers, employees, and customers
• Collaborate with commercial, engineering, and operational functions to prioritize quality roadmaps and define implementation of quality standards, methods, metrics, and procedures
• Establish relevant KPIs for continuous improvement and business performance

What We're Looking For

Required Experience:

• 5+ years working with and implementing Quality Management Systems within semiconductor or technology industries
• Proven track record of defining quality processes and procedures
• Experience administering document and issue management systems
• Practical experience with data collection, Pareto analysis, and data trending
• Hands-on experience with continuous improvement methodologies and structured problem solving
• ISO 9001 implementation, maintenance, and certification experience (knowledge of IATF 16949 or ISO 14001 is desirable)
• Thorough knowledge of quality improvement tools and methodologies
• Experience collaborating with design, development, and manufacturing organizations on design and product realization processes

Required Skills:

• Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and team-building skills
• Working understanding of statistical decision-making methods including process capability analysis, MSA, and DoE
• Knowledge of Six Sigma methods, process control systems, FMEA, CAPA, and continuous improvement programs
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products including Visio, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Ability to plan and conduct internal, supplier, and customer audits
• Self-starter with strong problem-solving abilities and capacity to work independently
• Practical understanding and application of quality design tools such as FMEA and APQP
• Expert knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 and its application in technology organizations
• Strong leadership, communication, and influencing skills with ability to engage customers, senior management, and internal stakeholders

Education:

• Minimum Bachelor's degree in relevant discipline or equivalent vocational experience

Location: Reading, UK (other European locations may be considered)
