Power Platform Developer

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential government technology client seeking a Senior Power Platform Developer for a remote, long-term engagement. Our talent team is working with a state-level technology services organization that manages consolidated IT infrastructure and standardization initiatives across multiple agencies.

This is a 2-year contract position supporting critical application development and digital transformation efforts. You'll play a key role in designing and implementing enterprise-grade Power Platform solutions while mentoring internal development teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain comprehensive Power Platform solutions including Canvas Apps, Model-driven Apps, Power Pages, Power Automate workflows, and Power BI dashboards
• Translate business and program requirements into scalable, maintainable technical architectures
• Develop reusable components, patterns, and templates aligned with organizational standards
• Integrate Power Platform solutions with Microsoft 365 services, Azure services, and external systems via connectors and APIs
• Implement role-based security, data loss prevention policies, and environment management strategies
• Design and maintain data models within Dataverse and both on-premises and cloud relational database systems
• Ensure solutions comply with federal and state regulations including security, privacy, and accessibility requirements
• Provide knowledge transfer and training to in-house development teams
• Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and technical solution assessments
• Evaluate and pilot emerging Power Platform capabilities including Copilot Studio for conversational AI solutions

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science, Management Information Systems, Information Technology, or related field
• 5+ years of hands-on experience developing solutions using Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Dataverse, Power BI)
• 5+ years demonstrating strong understanding of application lifecycle management, environment strategy (Dev/Test/Prod), security and role-based access control
• 5+ years of SQL query development experience
• 5+ years gathering requirements and translating them into technical designs
• Experience with both on-premises and cloud relational database management systems
• Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a shared-services environment

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Copilot Studio or other conversational AI platforms
• Background in government, public sector, or regulated environments
• MS SQL Server expertise
• Familiarity with Dynamics 365, Azure services (Logic Apps, Functions, API Management), and DevOps practices including CI/CD pipelines for Power Platform
• Microsoft certifications such as Power Platform Developer or Solution Architect
