Bengali Document Specialist – Fully Remote | Upto $12/hr

About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential technology client seeking native Bengali-speaking document specialists for a fully remote contract engagement. This role centers on high-precision annotation, transcription, and structural analysis of Bengali-language PDF materials containing multimodal content.

Responsibilities

• Source publicly accessible Bengali PDF documents in assigned categories that include images, tables, diagrams, or handwritten elements, and document provenance
• Annotate document structure by identifying and bounding every meaningful region—titles, headings, paragraphs, lists, tables, figures, captions, formulas, questions, and answer fields—assigning component types and reading-order indices
• Record hierarchical relationships by linking regions to parent components such as tables or figures
• Transcribe all text with character-level fidelity in Bengali script, including handwritten content, and flag illegible regions
• Capture complete page metadata: language, document type, source, dimensions, and flags for tables, formulas, and handwriting
• Perform peer review of colleagues' completed annotation tasks, applying the same taxonomy and quality standards end to end

What We're Looking For

Must-Have

• Native Bengali speaker with complete mastery of the script, diacritics, and conjunct character forms
• Professional experience in document-intensive work: annotation, transcription, translation, localization, subtitling, proofreading, journalism, or regional-language data review
• Demonstrated character-level accuracy; single-diacritic precision is required
• Ability to apply a detailed taxonomy systematically across hundreds of pages
• Comfort working with varied layouts including multi-column newspapers, exam papers, and handwritten forms

Preferred

• Background in regional-language AI data projects: annotation, labeling, grading, or bilingual evaluation for training datasets
• Transcription and localization experience: machine-translation post-editing, subtitling, bilingual QA, or OCR correction
• Document production background: typesetting, copy-editing, proofreading, or digitization of Bengali materials
• Familiarity with Unicode normalization, Bengali input methods, and numeral/character-form accuracy
