About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential federal technology services organization seeking a Senior Database Analyst / Administrator to join their mission-critical systems division. This remote position supports complex business intelligence systems within an established Agile environment using the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).

Responsibilities

  • Work within an Agile solution development environment with daily scrums, biweekly sprint planning, and quarterly Program Increment planning
  • Develop operating standards and best practices for database performance, security, scalability, and maintainability
  • Ensure proper definition, control, and coordination of data elements, standards, and efficient data relationships
  • Collaborate with Product Owners and stakeholders to gather business requirements and translate them to technical specifications
  • Document complex workflow designs and present to project teams and stakeholders
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret large datasets using advanced statistical analysis, data mining, and predictive modeling techniques
  • Synthesize disparate information, develop data visualizations, and track key performance indicators tied to program outcomes
  • Conduct peer code reviews and perform data validation to ensure accuracy and integrity
  • Develop stored procedures, jobs, views, tables, and other database objects in SQL Server Management Studio
  • Design and develop dimensional data models including star and snowflake schemas, fact and dimension tables, and enterprise data marts
  • Develop and deploy ETL packages using CI/CD pipeline with version control systems
  • Work with Atlassian suite of development management tools
  • Index system and application logs into monitoring systems and create dashboards, alerts, and reports

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience in database maintenance and database analysis or similar role
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Programming, Computer Engineering, or relevant computer-based major (experience may be considered in lieu of degree)
  • Proficient experience with databases including Microsoft SQL Server, Informix, and Oracle
  • Experience with Snowflake and exposure to cloud platforms, particularly Azure
  • Demonstrated experience with database environment installation, configuration, and ongoing administration support
  • Strong understanding of data warehouse concepts
  • Proficiency with data modeling, data mapping, data flow diagrams, and data marts
  • Experience architecting and implementing cloud-based database solutions
  • Experience with data migration from legacy on-premises databases to multi-cloud/hybrid cloud platforms
  • Proven ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines
  • Strong analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent organization and time management abilities
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills at all organizational levels

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Database or cloud certification such as Microsoft Certified Azure Database Administrator Associate, Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or equivalent industry-recognized database certification
  • Experience creating and managing database reports, visualizations, and dashboards
  • Knowledge of federal court operations and law enforcement business data

Pay

The client's likely salary range for this position is $114,750 - $155,250, based on experience, geographic location, and contractual requirements.
