About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential climate technology organization seeking a Data Quality Engineer to join their cross-functional product team. This role sits at the critical intersection of data engineering, vendor management, and product delivery—ensuring the integrity and reliability of data pipelines that power enterprise analytics solutions.

As the data quality checkpoint between vendor ingestion and product launch, you'll design validation frameworks, manage external data relationships, and work alongside engineering, quantitative modeling, and solutions teams to deliver launch-ready products. This is a high-impact role in a fast-paced environment where data quality directly influences product success.

Responsibilities

  • Design and execute comprehensive frameworks for data quality assurance and validation across production pipelines
  • Serve as the primary quality checkpoint between external data vendor ingestion and product delivery, identifying and resolving issues before downstream impact
  • Collaborate with Senior Engineers, Quantitative Modelers, and Solutions Architects to validate data feeding product and financial models
  • Partner with external data vendors to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and fitness-for-purpose of incoming data streams
  • Implement automated testing and validation within DAG-based ETL orchestration systems
  • Establish data quality monitoring, documentation, and alerting to support pipelines post-launch
  • Surface data quality risks and vendor issues to engineering leadership with adequate lead time for launch decisions
  • Participate in agile ceremonies including stand-ups and milestone meetings to maintain cross-functional alignment
  • Support new feature implementation and investigate data infrastructure improvements

What We're Looking For

Required Skills and Experience:

  • 3+ years of experience in data engineering, data quality, or analytics engineering roles
  • Production Python coding experience (modular, testable code for production systems)
  • Strong Git workflow and collaborative code review practices
  • Docker containerization and image build tooling
  • Data validation and verification pipeline design with automated testing frameworks
  • Data exploration tools: pandas, SQL, and similar technologies
  • DAG-based ETL orchestration (Prefect or similar platforms)
  • AWS cloud services, especially S3
  • Data quality assessment and solution feasibility analysis
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, statistics, or related field (or equivalent practical experience)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience managing or coordinating with external data vendors, including quality troubleshooting
  • Background working in fast-paced, cross-functional environments supporting product launches or high-stakes deliveries
  • Experience partnering with quantitative or financial modeling teams
  • Familiarity with Prefect workflows, Pydantic, pytest, Snowflake, PostgreSQL, or Temporal execution engines
  • Climate technology sector experience

Work Authorization: Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States.
