About This Opportunity
We are representing a confidential renewable energy organization seeking a Project Manager to lead utility-scale Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects across Italy. Our talent team is recruiting for a senior role managing project delivery and commissioning activities in the fast-growing energy storage sector.
Responsibilities
- Manage project delivery and commissioning works for utility-scale energy storage installations, coordinating with internal teams, suppliers, and contractors
- Develop and execute commissioning plans to support project delivery objectives
- Manage and negotiate project delivery clauses within customer contracts
- Lead projects through to commercial operations and ensure smooth handover from construction teams to operations and maintenance teams
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations across all suppliers and contractors
- Develop and execute testing protocols based on grid operator requirements, DNO specifications, and contractual obligations
- Produce regular project progress reports and maintain project risk matrices
What We're Looking For
- Suitable engineering degree or equivalent qualifications
- Proven experience managing projects and commissioning electrical equipment within Solar PV and/or Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects or other renewable energy installations
- Demonstrated experience adhering to safety regulations (CDM) in operational settings
- Strong background supervising site activities across multiple contractors simultaneously
- Familiarity with relevant electrical standards, regulations, and legislation
- Ability to adapt to dynamic conditions and execute under tight deadlines
- Highly developed interpersonal skills with proven ability to interface with contractors, suppliers, and client representatives
- CSCS card holder or equivalent
- Excellent MS Office capabilities; SCADA and MODBUS experience is a plus
- Willingness and ability to travel in support of energy storage project portfolio
- Strong communication skills with a flexible, positive attitude and structured working approach
- Fluent English and Italian required; German or additional European languages a plus
