Senior Customer Lead National Security (London)

Our talent team is representing a confidential innovation consultancy operating at the intersection of government, industry, and emerging technology. We are seeking a Senior Customer Lead for National Security based in London to drive strategic client relationships and business growth within the national security sector.

This senior commercial role combines government insight with business development excellence. You will lead client engagements across London and the surrounding region, building partnerships that translate policy trends and funding priorities into sustainable revenue opportunities. Working within a specialized national security and defence team, you will own the complete client lifecycle from prospecting through delivery satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Serve as account lead for national security clients in London and the wider region, managing relationships from initial prospecting through proposal development, opportunity identification, and delivery satisfaction
• Maintain highly visible presence with existing clients to strengthen the organization's brand and reputation in the sector
• Drive net-new business by diversifying revenue streams across client business units and securing material value, multi-year contracts
• Expand partnerships within the national security supplier ecosystem to create new revenue opportunities and routes to market
• Develop, refine, and market new service propositions alongside the wider team, ensuring alignment with customer requirements and emerging market opportunities
• Contribute expert insights on customer needs and procurement trends to inform team strategy and support strategic campaigns
• Support continuous improvement of go-to-market processes and business development maturation

What We're Looking For

Essential Requirements:

• Proven track record of selling and winning new business within the national security sector, with demonstrable proposition development experience
• Direct experience working with national security clients in London, including client delivery and relationship-based sales
• Valid SC clearance (essential); DV clearance preferred; national security sponsorship preferred
• Experience working with partners to shape and deliver consortium bids and strategic opportunities
• Strong understanding of national security procurement and commercial processes
• Strong commercial acumen including opportunity shaping, negotiation, and deal strategy
• Ability to operate autonomously as an individual contributor while collaborating effectively within broader teams
• Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to develop rapport, understand client needs, and align solutions accordingly
• Strategic thinking capability to identify long-term trends and develop credible propositions

Desirable:

• Experience with technology adoption, innovation ecosystems, or organizational change in government, particularly national security
• Demonstrable success securing and growing contracts valued at £1m+ and/or multi-year engagements

Pay

Pay via Get A Job.ai: £80,000 - £100,000 depending on skills and experience. Additional benefits include annual bonus scheme, generous pension (up to 10% company contribution), private healthcare, life assurance, critical illness cover, 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, and volunteering day.
