About This Opportunity
Our talent team at Get A Job.ai is representing a confidential SaaS organization seeking an experienced Engineering Manager with strong Java expertise. This is a hands-on leadership role based in Paris, France, where you'll manage a small engineering team while remaining actively involved in technical delivery. You'll be working on innovative solutions that leverage AI to create powerful software platforms.
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of 4-5 developers, conducting regular one-on-ones, performance reviews, and fostering team cohesion across distributed locations
- Drive technical excellence by taking ownership of user stories, conducting code reviews, and actively contributing to design, development, testing, and production deployments
- Coordinate cross-functional delivery by developing roadmaps with R&D teams, aligning priorities with other tech leads, and partnering with product and design teams
- Establish and champion best practices in clean code, testing, and pair programming
- Remove technical blockers and make arbitration decisions to ensure the team delivers on commitments
- Contribute to recruitment and ensure successful onboarding of new team members
- Participate in the adoption of AI within products and internal practices
What We're Looking For
Required Experience:
- At least 5 years of Java development experience with recent versions
- Minimum 2 years in a team lead or similar management role, with proven experience mentoring developers
- Demonstrated ability to balance hands-on technical contribution with people management responsibilities
- Track record of delivering complex projects in a microservices environment
- Professional proficiency in English
Technical Skills:
- Strong Java development and architecture expertise
- Experience with Spring Framework
- SQL database knowledge
- Cloud platform experience
- Microservices architecture
- Team leadership and mentoring capabilities
- Technical decision-making and problem-solving skills
- Cross-functional collaboration experience
Location: Based in Paris, France with one day of remote work per week.
