Senior Software Engineer – US Payments and Partner Operations (m/f/d)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential fintech organization in their search for a Senior Software Engineer to join their US Payments and Partner Operations team in Berlin. This team owns the core money-movement infrastructure for a US-facing platform, including ACH payment processing, reconciliation, bank partner integrations, and customer account lifecycle management.

This is an excellent opportunity for a.NET-focused engineer who wants to work on critical financial infrastructure while expanding their technical breadth across modern full-stack technologies.

Responsibilities

• Own and deliver features and bug fixes end-to-end with minimal guidance
• Identify and address bottlenecks in the team's delivery flow, from design to deployment
• Utilize AI tools to increase delivery pace and capability
• Promote best practices around the core technology stack
• Transfer knowledge proactively and lead by example in learning and mentoring
• Contribute to improving how the team programs, tests, reviews, and ships code
• Flag process gaps and propose pragmatic improvements
• Elevate other engineers through constructive code review and collaborative problem-solving
• Build practical expertise in payments, partner operations, and financial services domains
• Contribute to new feature design and implementation alongside Product Managers, Tech Leads, and Engineering Leads

What We're Looking For

Required Skills and Experience:

• Deep, production-level expertise designing, optimizing, and maintaining enterprise APIs using.NET Web API
• Strong experience building and structuring web applications with.NET
• Solid relational database design, complex querying, and performance tuning skills in SQL Server
• Deep understanding of SOLID principles with a proven track record of writing clean code
• Practical experience with modern architectural patterns, specifically Clean/Onion Architecture
• Fast learner comfortable stepping outside the.NET ecosystem to work with React or other technologies
• Highly analytical mindset with strong attention to detail and quality
• Team-first approach with excellent communication and collaboration skills

Desired Skills:

• Experience building user interfaces with React, JavaScript, and HTML
• Familiarity with testing tools like Jest or React Testing Library
• Exposure to Node.js, GoLang, or Java/Spring Boot
• Experience with GraphQL
• Knowledge of MongoDB or other NoSQL databases
• Familiarity with NUnit for automated testing
• Experience with OAuth and ASP.NET Identity for secure authentication
