About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential fintech organization at an exciting inflection point in their growth. Our client has established a strong foundation in financial technology for service-based SMBs and is now expanding their product portfolio into new adjacent capabilities including AI-powered analytics and comprehensive money movement solutions.

They need a Senior Product Marketing Manager to build the product marketing function from the ground up. This is a rare opportunity to own foundational PMM work—ICPs, positioning, competitive intelligence, and go-to-market strategy—while working cross-functionally with Product, Sales, and Marketing leadership.

This hybrid position is based in downtown Toronto (Queen W + Spadina area) and requires three days per week in office (Monday–Wednesday). Candidates must be eligible to work in Canada.

Responsibilities

  • Own and evolve ideal customer profiles, buyer personas, and buyer journeys across multiple product lines and priority verticals
  • Develop clear, differentiated positioning and messaging grounded in customer needs and market evidence
  • Partner closely with Product teams to understand roadmap priorities and influence go-to-market timing and approach
  • Own the product launch roadmap and go-to-market strategy for new products and major releases, coordinating across Product, Sales, and Marketing
  • Build and maintain a competitive intelligence program including competitor positioning, pricing, product direction, and key differentiators
  • Analyze sales calls, pipeline performance, win/loss data, customer feedback, and market research to identify winning messages and understand losses
  • Conduct customer, prospect, and Sales interviews; supplement internal insight with third-party research or user testing where needed
  • Translate research into practical resources including messaging frameworks, sales enablement materials, objection handling guides, and launch narratives
  • Shape the story behind product-led campaigns and launch moments, including briefing content and developing narratives for webinars and presentations
  • Lead cross-functional working sessions and build alignment across Product, Sales, Marketing, and leadership teams
  • Establish processes, work plans, and success metrics to demonstrate the impact of product marketing over time
  • Leverage AI and emerging tools to accelerate research, synthesize insights, and improve work quality and efficiency

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of B2B SaaS product marketing experience with meaningful ownership of positioning, messaging, buyer research, and go-to-market strategy
  • Proven track record of independently leading product launches from early planning through market execution and adoption
  • Strong understanding of product marketing fundamentals and ability to build effective programs without relying on an established playbook or large supporting team
  • Strong qualitative and quantitative research skills, including customer interviews, sales-call analysis, win/loss data, segmentation, and competitive intelligence
  • Demonstrated ability to turn customer and market insight into differentiated positioning and messaging that cross-functional teams can execute
  • Evidence that your work has influenced commercial outcomes such as product adoption, win rates, cross-sell, upsell, or entry into new markets
  • Strong cross-functional leadership skills and confidence to influence senior stakeholders, facilitate alignment, and constructively challenge assumptions
  • Ability to move comfortably between strategic thinking and hands-on execution—from analyzing pipeline data to writing launch narratives or briefing executives
  • Curiosity and a "detective" mindset: you enjoy getting close to customers and sellers, asking the right questions, and finding evidence to support recommendations
  • Comfort working through ambiguity, setting priorities, and creating structure in a fast-moving scale-up environment
  • AI literacy and interest in using new tools to improve research and analysis (advanced technical or automation experience not required)
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills with ability to turn complex information into clear, compelling market stories

Nice to Have:

  • Experience in fintech, payments, startup, or scale-up environments
  • Familiarity with Jobs to be Done, Bowtie, and PLG frameworks
